Juliette Carbonnier (she/her) is a performer, writer, comedian, artist, etc, etc, etc. She was born and raised in New York City, baby!

She mainly writes plays, screenplays, comedy, and poetry, but she’s always open to other ideas.

Juliette graduated from Princeton University in 2024 with a B.A. in English, with certificates in Creative Writing, Music Theater and Theater. For her thesis, Juliette wrote/produced/performed Bodywork, a dark comedy play, under the nourishing guidance of Nathan Davis, Sylvia Khoury and Stacey Wolf. Her thesis won her the Alan S. Downer Prize and the Francis LeMoyne Page Prize. Juliette also wrote Funeral Theatrics, a poetry collection, with Ilya Kaminsky as her radiant adviser. Juliette was the artistic director of Quipfire! Improv Comedy, she wrote comedy skits and songs for Princeton Triangle Club, and she wrote for All-Nighter (Princeton's late night variety show).

Juliette was generously awarded Princeton’s Martin A. Dale ’53 Postgraduate Fellowship for 2024-2025. During this time, she researched and wrote Polin: Child of Possessions, which is a one-woman dark comedy play about being possessed by and obsessed with family ghosts (featuring original music, clown comedy skits, and Yiddish nostalgias). As a wide ranging performer, Juliette does musicals, plays, comedy shows, improv shows, and more. Some of her favorite past roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Violet in 9 to 5: The Musical, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and being part of Little Shows About Death with Sam Pinkleton over zoom. Some of her recent original comedic characters include: Guy Who Makes Exertion Noises, Fucked Up Shirley Temple, and Child Who Definitely Did NOT Eat Poo (she credits these characters to her time at l’École de Philippe Gaulier).

Juliette currently teaches pre-K and elementary afterschool classes in comedy improv, musical theater, and music with Arts & Athletics. After having attended New York public school her whole life (until Princeton ruined her record), she is delighted to return, at age 24, to her public elementary school as a teacher. Before this job, she worked as a literary assistant at the McCarter Theatre, an assistant director of children's summer productions at Quogue Junior Theater Troupe, and a camp counselor at a wildlife refuge. Juliette also has experience translating French, creating portraits/illustrations on commission, and working on grassroots local political campaigns.

Juliette loves collaborating and working across different mediums and genres of storytelling. She believes wholeheartedly in comedy, especially during tragedy. Ha ha ha! Through her art, Juliette strives to create joy, kindness, creativity, and community (etc, etc, etc).
